Veteran's Day Discounts

VETERANS DAY DISCOUNTS 2010
Eat Free at Applebee's
Military veterans and active-duty Service Members will be able to eat free
at any Applebee's across the U.S. on Veteran’s Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.
There will be six entrées available from the menu. Guests will be asked to show
one or more of the following as proof of service: a U.S. Uniform Services
Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current
Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, a photograph in

Military Eat Free at Golden Corral
Golden Corral's 9th annual Military Appreciation Monday dinner will be
held on Monday, November 15, 2010, from 5 to 9 pm in all Golden Corral
restaurants nationwide. The free dinner meal is a special "thank you tribute" to
any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a
veteran, retired, currently serving, or in the National Guard/Reserves, you are
invited to join us for Golden Corral's Military Appreciation Monday dinner. To
date, Golden Corral restaurants have provided over 2.2 million free meals and
contributed over $3.3 million to the Disabled American Veterans organization.

Fee Free Day at National Parks
To honor America’s service men and women, Secretary of the Interior Ken
Salazar today announced that areas managed by the department would not charge
entrance fees on Thursday, November 11, 2010.

Colonial Williamsburg Free Admission
Colonial Williamsburg honors America's Veterans with a procession down
Duke of Gloucester Street, 4:30 p.m., beginning at the Capitol. The parade
culminates in a public ceremony, with militia and cannon crew firing volleys in
recognition of those who serve. Hear Colonial Williamsburg's Fifes and Drums, and
speakers from past and present. Active duty military, guard and reservists,

Hey guys! A fellow Viper wife (Thanks Shannon!) shared this info so I am passing it on to you! JC Penney is offering free portrait sessions and free sheet of photos to families who have a deployed service member.

Chick Flick Night Reminder!!

Ladies a quick reminder!!! Chick Flick night Friday at Renee Wilke 's home... It starts at 7pm. The movie is Sex and the City 2. Drinks, popcorn, and dessert will be provided. For those attending please be prepared to chip in for pizza... If you are by yourself then it will be $5 and if you bring your children it is $10.. You’re Invited to Our Pampered Chef Fund-Raiser Kick Off Show to Support The Greater Jacksonville Area USO!!!!!

***Our goal is to raise $3000 to send 100 holiday care packages to deployed troops. If we have 75 participants who each collect $200 in orders, we will have met our goal! ***
Here are some ways you can help:

1. Attend the fun kick off show on Tuesday, October 26th at 6:59 PM for food and shopping.
            - Bring a friend the USO hasn’t met... There will be a gift
          when you do!!            
          - Childcare will be available – Please RSVP immediately,
          so we can ensure proper help is available.

2. Take a few of our new Fall catalogs and share w/ your friends - they'll love browsing and adding some new things to their kitchens - or getting an early start on holiday gifts!!

4. Schedule a LIVE cooking show for your friends (you'll save approx. $300 on your personal shopping)

                   too!!

5. How about hosting a USO fund-raiser cooking show of your own???

New Website for the Squadron

The new command website is now up and viewable.  There are still issues
that are still being worked at this time i.e. certificate error pop up
that must be clicked through multiple times, as well as missing links
and pictures. The site is still a work in progress. Please visit and
feel free to forward any suggested improvements or things you would like
to see on the website to myself, IT2 Penigar, or ITSA Dillon.  Your
feedback is vital and greatly appreciated.

Connor's A-Maize-Ing Acres is tons of fun! The famous corn maze, cow train, barnyard animals, hayride, pumpkin patch and lots more!! They do not allow outside food through the gate. I would recommend to either eat lunch before hand or they do provide very good food inside the gate.
Children will get $2 off entry if you bring a non-perishable food item for each child. Adults of deployed spouses with get in FREE with proper ID. (I believe tickets are $10 each)
